PETER KERN LIBRARY EXPERIENCE

Our first trip to Knoxville, Tennessee was filled with good vibes and good energy.

Thanks to our new friend and Hotel Manager Sondra, we were treated with a room in an antique hotel called The Oliver.

The Oliver has been around since 1876, it’s where German bred businessman and politician Peter Kern built his first bakery which also became an ice cream parlor, drugstore, dance hall and now, boutique hotel.

Inside the hotel is a quaint speakeasy called The Peter Kern Library. Whiskey and Rosemary had the opportunity to host a cocktail hour for library card members.

The evening began with a John Coltrane playlist and a refreshing impromptu welcome cocktail made with Whiskey, Pineapple Liqueur, Lemon Juice, Lavender Syrup, Tiki and Honey Bark Bitters.

The guests were then served hors d'oeuvres before receiving the second cocktail called “Finely Overdue”. Finely Overdue was definitely a crowd favorite, it’s made with Gin, Coconut water, Vanilla Syrup, Banana Liqueur and Lemon Juice finished with a flamed Coconut Rim.

Towards the end of the evening, we were able to meet and greet the Peter Kern Library members and receive some honest feedback. Fortunately, the guests had a stellar experience enjoying cocktails while practicing social distance with Whiskey and Rosemary.

The night ended with a smooth sipper called “Chapter 17” made with Scotch Whiskey, Disaronno, Smoked Rosemary Syrup and bitters.

Cheers, until we see you again!
